To make a long, long story short...
Yep, is borning in these days, after months of a real labour, a new project, with the intention to pay homage to one of the best metal bands of the history: MEGADETH...
To be honest, in the beginning it was more considered like a double tribute to Megadeth & Metallica, but, existing yet, in the worldwide underground scene, bands such as Creeping Death, Misery, Metal Militia, etc..., we didn't want absolutely to start a sort of useless and unproductive competition among the bands, so we have decided to go back to our real "first love"...
Guess everybody know how it's difficult to sell a product to ignorant promoters they don't know very well!!! For this reason we had established to choose a more, hot to describe it... "METALLICA" look? :-) In order to keep quiet with songs like "Nothing else matters" also the more "delicate" ear, also because we consider Megadeth like a kinda "Metallica's rib", so there was not a kind of interests' conflict. ;-)
Anyway, after a long and accurated promotion in the Italian underground, the final change, with the return to the original Megadeth-only tribute and the inevitable substitution (Unfortunately still in act...!!! ;-P) of the symbols
and the official logo that was our trademark...
Born more as a joke this project in reality has started to become famous in the "neighbourhood", due to performances really close to the originals and for the spontaneous "charge" seeable executing the songs. We've decided to make an attempt to check the interest among audiences and promoters with positively surprising results...
To make it short we have kept collecting compliments till today, thing very rare considering the well known "proverbial envy of the town", so we've been motivated to produce seriously a real discographic project, also if little, cos we're still "nobody"... :-)
We've decided to represent the event with the symbolic image of the real first "unborn" record from original Metallica's, with Dave Mustaine on lead guitar, well known by the real fans of both bands as "Metal up your ass", then we've recorded a promotional 21 minutes MiniCD, obviously titled "Metal up your ass".
With all the good intentions, and a lil' bit of luck, we've prepared a verious live-set necessary to conquer the opinion of the many different typologies of fans, that the cloned band has created with the passing time and styles, who likes the oldies and goldies from "Killing is my business" or "Peace sells", who adores "Rust in peace" or "Countdown to extinction" and also who preferes the new stuff from "The system has failed" and "United abominations", trying, at least in the beginning to satisfy everybody's tastes, as the "real" band would do in their shows, to eventually modify after the "live-set", following the comments and suggestions received.
We started to build the official web-site or the project, using for the moment the same image of the gigs' posters as a "welcome" page, and after we've started to spread the news, that, after going round and round, has reached the ears of many of the Megadeth's worldwide fans, thru the chat of the official www.Megadeth.com site, the Hangar 18, and some "tribute-coworkers" in the States and around, so now they're helping us to organize an historical enterprise, at least for what I know of the Italian musical history...: a mini-tour of about two weeks in their countries, Texas,
New York, Canada, England and Croatia, to be precise!
For what I remember, very few people from Italy have tried this experience, bringing to our "cousins" their own music, and now we're scared like hell!!! ;-)
But we start to be aliked also by oversea's fans, with a slow a patient propaganda through many world's official and unofficial web-sites of the two super-bands...
First goal ?
We're yet on ArtistDirect (http://www.artistdirect.com), the site chosen by Megadeth, but also by Metallica, to sell officially their records and merchendising online, but also, and not for nothing, one of the biggest sites to buy worldwide music online; try to type "Axtra" in the "Search - Artist" form and... You'll see... ;-P
